Fore Solutions is the LEED Consultant for the Ice Arena project. The arena, adjacent to the Farley Field House, features a 90 ft. x 200 ft. ice surface, meeting rooms, locker rooms, offices and equipment rooms. Energy efficient refrigeration and dehumidification systems have been installed. The absorption chiller, using ammonia instead of HCFC or HFC refrigerants, has no direct ozone depletion or global warming potential. Other green features include waste management during construction to divert materials from the landfill, construction indoor air quality management, recycled and regional materials use, and an extensive green education component.
