The four-level, 44,659 square foot addition to the Morrell Gym complex is a shared facility dedicated to benefiting mind, body and spirit practices by housing exercise rooms along with centers for health and wellness. The new addition which replaces a structure that housed athletic department offices, is sheathed in glass, reflecting the campus day and night and forming what C7A describes as a literal and figurative lantern: a beacon of fitness, health and wellness for the campus community. The design incorporates environmentally friendly features such as energy-efficient lighting, natural light, water-saving fixtures, eco-friendly materials and a high-performance building envelope. Fore Solutions was the LEED Consultant on the project.
