Project Summary
Occupancy: Office, preserved open space and trails
Building Area: 4,000 ft2
Status: Construction Completed
Cost: $1,800,000
Architect: Stewart Brecher Architects

The project provides approximately 4,000 sq ft of new office space serving the Somesville, Maine office of the Maine Coast Heritage Trust. Early involvement of Fore Solutions and a commissioning agent with the design team helped to right-size mechanical systems. Photovoltaic panels were added – the project exceeds ASHRAE energy standards by over 50% while providing over 20% of the building’s electricity from the sun.  The building sits on the location of a former dilapidated house. The location preserves much of an existing field and the sensitive landscape bordering on a tidal creek.  Storm water management through bio-swales and rain gardens and the utilization of low water usage fixtures supports water conservation sustainability goals.

Fore Solutions was the LEED Consultant on this project.
