Integrated Design Services

As project teams become more familiar with green design strategies, it is clear that these strategies cannot simply be “tacked on” to a typical building design and achieve cost effective results. The challenge lies in realizing the interconnections between these strategies and how they can be integrated seamlessly into a project to achieve multiple benefits (to cost, performance, ecology, LEED certification, etc.).  This can only be accomplished through an integrated design process.

Fore Solutions has adopted and follows the approved ANSI Standard – ANSI/MTS 1.0 Whole Systems Integrated Process Guide (WSIP)-2007 for Sustainable Buildings & Communities. This standard provides a structured design process framework with a series of workshops to effectively manage the optimization of complex systems and achieve high levels of sustainability performance.

Fore Solutions can provide the following Integrated Design Management Services:

  • Design Team Selection & Owners Representation
  • Project and Design Management
  • Workshop and Charrette Facilitation
  • Coaching Services for design team member companies
  • “Designing the Design Process” – Mapping out the Integrated Design Process with the project team

The Integrated Design Process is a fundamentally different approach to the way in which we manage the design process. Contracts are structured differently, more research and analysis are performed earlier in the project, and more people are involved in workshops and charrettes. This adds a level of complexity to the design process and project management. However, the potential rewards are significantly higher performing buildings at minimal to no additional cost.
